This is the athletic side of our commercial catalog: soccer goals, football goal posts, volleyball systems, bleachers and player benches, and lacrosse goals, all made by First Team. Below is the one decision each comes down to, plus a link to the category where the models live. Projects range too much here to go over pricing, so every field gets its own quote.

What Athletic Field Equipment Do We Carry for NJ Schools and Towns?

Six kinds of field and court gear from one manufacturer, plus commercial basketball hoops and bleacher shade.
Row of white portable soccer goals lined up on a school turf field

Soccer goals. Start with how the goal stays put. A portable goal moves around the field, a semi-permanent goal drops into ground sockets, and a permanent goal stays where it’s set. If a goal can move, CPSC’s safety alert on movable soccer goals recommends anchoring or counter-weighting it at all times.

Football goal posts. For a school or college field, the level of play picks the package. The manufacturer’s high school packages use a 23′ 4″ crossbar and its college packages use an 18′ 6″ crossbar, both set 10 feet off the ground.

Padded volleyball posts and net on a sand court in a park

Volleyball systems. We carry both indoor and outdoor systems. Start with how the posts go in. They set into sockets, and I’d match your socket size to the product page first, or they stand on a portable weighted base where sockets aren’t an option.

Three sizes of aluminum bleachers

Bleachers and player benches. The number to know is 30 inches. CPSC’s bleacher guidelines call for guardrails once a seat, footboard or aisle sits 30 inches or more above the ground, and the FanStand bleachers are designed with the highest seat under that line. Player benches are in the same category.

Red lacrosse goal with a white net standing on grass

For lacrosse, it’s a competition goal or a practice goal, both 6′ x 6′, in the lacrosse goals category.

Commercial basketball hoops have their own Basketball Hoops category. If the same site needs a playground, that’s on our commercial playground equipment page for New Jersey.

If the hoops need a court under them, we build that too, from the base up to an acrylic color surface with painted lines or sports court tile. Our sports court construction page walks through the whole job.

Do You Carry Volleyball, Tennis and Pickleball Equipment?

Yes. For volleyball, First Team states that its competition systems meet “all NCAA, National High School Federation and USVBA rules,” and those systems are in our volleyball systems category.

Portable net system on weighted bases set up on a school tennis court

Tennis and pickleball come as net and post sets. The posts go in PVC sleeves on a dedicated court, in hinged floor sockets on a multi-use court, or on surface-mount brackets where digging below the court isn’t an option. There are portable sets on weighted bases too. One pickleball post telescopes from 36″ to 42″, so a shared court can switch between the two games. These sets aren’t listed on our site yet, so for now the full range is on First Team’s tennis and pickleball page, and I can quote any of it.

Need the court itself? We build new tennis and pickleball courts, resurface worn ones, and add pickleball lines to an existing tennis court. Here’s how we build and resurface sports courts in New Jersey.

Athletic Field and Seating Shade

For the stands, Superior Shade makes a bleacher line of cantilever shades. The posts sit off to the side, so they don’t block anyone’s view of the game, and the entrance height comes in 9, 10 or 11 feet to suit how tall the bleachers are. The line also comes in hanging and suspended versions, and the hanging one drapes wider and shades the walkway around the seats too. They’re in our shade structures category.

How Do NJ Schools and Towns Buy Athletic Equipment?

If you run purchasing for a district or a town, you already know your own rules. So here’s only the part that’s ours.

All the field and court equipment on this page, plus the bleacher shades and First Team’s basketball systems, is on our Bergen County Cooperative Pricing System contract, #CK04 (contract #BC-BID-24-35), and that contract covers installation. A member issues a PO against it with no separate RFP. Joining is free for NJ public entities and takes a resolution.

Delivery and Installation Across New Jersey

We ship to all 50 states and provide installation services for all NJ, Connecticut, and parts of New York and Pennsylvania.

Installs happen both in house and with trusted partners, depending on the job, and that includes commercial basketball hoops for schools and parks. Most field equipment installs are done within 4 to 6 weeks of the order.

Frequently Asked Questions About Athletic Field Equipment in NJ

What do the NJ bid and quote thresholds mean?

They’re the dollar lines that decide how a town or district has to shop. Under Local Finance Notice 2025-08, effective July 1, 2025, a unit with a Qualified Purchasing Agent has to advertise and take sealed public bids on a purchase over $53,000. Between $7,950 and $53,000 it collects competing quotes instead, and under $7,950 it can simply buy. School districts without a QPA use $39,000 and $5,850, and other local units without one use $17,500 and $2,625. A unit can set lower lines in its own policy. For a Bergen co-op member, buying through the co-op contract skips both steps, because the county already bid it.

Can we replace one part instead of the whole system?

Often, yes. Replacement volleyball winches, goal post pads and upright extensions are sold on their own. Each product page lists what it fits, like post diameter for the winches.

Are any of these goals meant for a backyard?

Yes, a few. A small soccer goal and a backyard goalpost sit in the same categories, and the practice lacrosse goal is pitched for backyard use too. The product page says which is which.

How long does installation take?

Most field equipment installs are done within 4 to 6 weeks of the order.
