Description
The Playground Equipment Mustang Island is a 5-12 structure, and it’s built like one. Fall height is 84 inches. The climbing includes a 270-degree overhead ring climber and a 5-foot pod climber.
CPSC’s public playground handbook splits equipment into age groups, and 2-5 year olds and 5-12 year olds get different equipment for a reason. An overhead ring climber and an 84-inch fall height are sized for school-age kids.
What’s on it
Two slides, a 5-foot wave slide and a straight tube slide. There’s also an incline tube bridge, a line panel, a bench panel and a rain wheel. The way up includes a 2-foot middle stair and a 3-foot ADA transfer stair off the transfer deck.

Where the Playground Equipment Mustang Island works
Elementary schools and parks where most of the kids are 5 and up. It holds 23 to 28 at once, with 4 elevated and 2 ground-level accessible play components.
If recess regularly puts more than 28 kids on the playground, the Playground Equipment Surfside is the bigger version for the same age group, at the same 84-inch fall height. It holds 46 to 52, has 8 elevated and 7 ground-level accessible components, and calls for a 42′ 1″ × 37′ 0″ use zone, compared with 28′ 8″ × 34′ 8″ here.
